Here's a new and improved spreadsheet of Davis businesses
Friendlier format is easier to use, and sorts information in a simplified way. Check the latest updates, what's coming soon, what's closed and more.
I’m excited to share my revamped spreadsheet of Davis businesses. I started the database during the pandemic, mostly to help me keep track. Since I made it public, I’ve had three offers from tech-minded people to help me redo it. (OK, I can take a hint. It needed help.)
This third time, the format made sense and simplified the way each entry was organized. Thanks to Josh Anway of Tiny Minotaur for the groundwork, and for his patience with my many stupid questions.
It’s formatted on Notion instead of Google, but that matters only to techies. The public can access it for free. Each entry has the date it was last updated, some notes, and tags for its label or status. There are tabs (and tags) for Coming Soon, Restaurant, Service, Retail and Closed. You may also view the entire list under Alphabetical, or view Recently Updated for a quick catch-up on what’s new.
Note: 100 merchants display at a time, but there are more than 500 businesses in the list. Entries are alphabetical. When you get to the bottom of each page, click “Load more” until you reach the end of the alphabet.
This started as a list of eateries, and because it’s what I write about most, Restaurant (which includes bars) is the most complete category. If you notice a missing Davis business, email me at wendy@comingsandgoings.news.

Such a great community service, Wendy. Thanks!
Great spread sheet. First time I have looked at it. Thank you.
